Introduction to the International Federation of World Philosophical Societies
The World Federation of Philosophical Associations, or FIAV for short, was established in 1967 at the Second World Congress of Phnom Penhology in Zurich, Switzerland. Twelve associations and institutions from Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States are founding members of FIAV. In the past few years, the organization of banner science has been growing, FIAV has joined 74 organizations from all over the world, and the last one is the China banner science research center (international abbreviation VRCC) which joined in 2019. FIAV now has 51 active members of the philology associations in 51 countries.
